Michael Cleveland, PhD

Michael Cleveland is an associate professor of human development at Washington State University. His research focuses on factors that increase the risk of relapse among people with substance use and addiction, with the goal to provide “in-the-moment” interventions that help people manage the stress, anxiety, and other relapse “triggers” that accompany the recovery process. His quantitative expertise centers on the appropriate application of modern statistical techniques to answer complex research questions.
